River Jane & Co. is an interior design studio in Spicewood, Texas. Mia Roberts built the vision, the standards and the point of view behind it, and the team helps carry them out in every home.
It started with a demolished house.
In 2015 we hired a contractor who took our money and left us with a gutted home and nothing to show for it. We had one option left: I designed it, and my husband built it.
That house turned into the next one, and the one after that, first in North Carolina and then in Texas, where we moved eight years ago. When I launched the studio again here, clients responded to the same things that got us through that first house: knowing how a project actually goes together, and saying so plainly. We served more than 100 client projects in the first year.
That is why River Jane looks at the whole project, not just what looks pretty.

How we like to work.
Every client starts with a Design Strategy, so you see the vision and what it will cost before anything is ordered or built. After that you choose how to carry it out: full design and sourcing through River Jane, our in-house construction team or your own contractor, and soon, pieces from River Jane Haus, our members shop.
The projects we love most are the complete ones, a remodel or a new build where we take the room from the cabinetry and tile through the built-ins, the furniture and the shades.
And fair warning: we'll tell you when we think you're about to make the wrong call. The right clients love that about us.
